Not when it applies to patients' needs in a manual wheelchair.

We've all been at the mall and seen a little lady roll by in a wheelchair that looks like it belongs to a NFL football lineman. Her feet dangle, she has enough room beside her to fit in a grandchild, and it weighs a ton.

For a wheelchair to work effectively, it must almost be "custom fit" to each individual. ALL MED has the resources to custom fit all of your clients. We've been matching products to patients needs for years.

We stock over 50 manual wheelchairs at all times, ensuring a minimal time between order and delivery. To meet the diversity of our patients we stock sizes ranging from 12" to 30" wide and 12" to 22" deep. Customer service representatives begin the process to identify a patient's needs by diagnosis, then they will recommend wheelchair options to meet those needs, including the proper seat to floor height, adjustable height armrest, wheel lock extensions, anti-tippers, adjustable back angle, pneumatic tires, and appropriate cushion, etc. Delivery technicians measure the patient, assess their environment and daily routines to properly fit them in the correct wheelchair to maximize comfort and performance. Very involved patients receive a more thorough evaluation by a mobility specialist. They will identify the specific needs of our more challenged patients (i.e. those requiring tilt-in-space therapy, pediatric clients, etc.)

Reimbursement Requirements: Patient can no longer safely ambulate with a cane, walker, etc. The patient cannot functionally propel a standard weight wheelchair (50 lbs), but they can propel a lightweight wheelchair (30 lbs).
