Our board certified respiratory therapist, with direction from physicians, can provide the latest innovations in technology to ensure the most positive out come possible.

All MED's Patient Respiratory Enrichment Program is available by physician's order.
All P.R.E.P. patients receive:
  • A 12-24 hour pulmonary profile including pulse oximetry
  • Patient instruction on the proper use of O2 and sleep therapy equipment, metered does inhalers, aerosol therapy, and peak flow meters
  • A review of current medications, pulmonary related diet, and breathing techniques and exercises
  • Simple Spirometry (also offered - Pre and Post Bronchodialator treatment)

  • Every new 24 hour/ambulatory O2 patient is set up on the Home Fill Oxygen System or the Sequal Portable Oxygen Concentrator
  • We transfill our own portable tanks so patients who choose to use a traditional portable system are not limited in the amount of tanks they can receive
  • We arrange for our traveling patients oxygen needs
  • We provide 24 hour on-call clinical support for all of our respiratory patients

Reimbursement Requirements: To qualify for stationary and portable oxygen, a patient must have a waking room air ABG = PO2 of < 55 OR a room air pulse oximetry = SAO2 of < 88%. To qualify for a stationary oxygen for nocturnal use only, a pulse oximetry while sleeping, with a SAO2 of < 9=88% for longer than 5 minutes total during the test. COPD, Emphysema, CHF, CAD, Pulmonary Hypertension, CA of the lung, Pleural Effusion, Interstitial Lung Disease, Respiratory Distress, respiratory Failure, Cor Pulmonale, most any diagnosis lending to Hypoxemia will qualify for Oxygen Therapy.
